He began to share his story how God had called him to one of the African nations and to begin with he used business trips to get into the country and work there. Quickly he and his wife decided to open the door and let them take what they wanted. As he went to open the door, he was blasted by a shotgun through it, taking away half his face. Yes, God is sovereign, and He is allowing concerned Christians to get the truth out about Mark Driscoll through blogging, twittering, and talking — the very tools he has used to promote himself and his ministry. As I wrap up this post, it certainly appears that Mark Driscoll has been seething about the Brits for some time, based on how he answered Justin Brierley's questions.
He and his 'disciples' likely monitor what is being said and written about him in Great Britain, and I believe that may have influenced his responses to Justin and as well as his blog post for the Brits. But the plastic Grace that sits submissively by his side while he rants and raves just makes me think that. Bitterness is not a gender specific emotion. His flare-up, if closely examined, can reveal some of the theology at work and the forces behind these theological allegiances. Bill Kinnon — great link and article by DF. As one who comes from a neo-reformed world, I can relate to the questions that he puts to the readers. They are very good food for thought. Why would he want to speak of the Brits, their clergy, and their country in this way when he is going to be speaking at a convention there this year? This is a convention for Christians so why berate the Christians in this way before you go speak to them?
If he is preparing the way for something — then what might that something be with these ever so gracious remarks? It sounded like Mark and Grace were on speaker phone. Mark was sitting with her. It would be easy for the interviewer across the pond to overlook seeking a response from her. She was not in sight and Driscoll was so busy spouting that he often tallked over the interviewer.

Driscoll has no objection to Christian people being tattooed. Driscoll claims that he has the gift of discernment that allows him to see the sins of his congregation. As Christians, we must be aware of those who seek to destroy the Church from within.

An essential attribute of false teachers is their ability to mix truth with falsehood. This will be a very unpleasant sermon for you, because the Bible says to not merely listen to the Word but do what it says. It is contrary to the literary style of the book itself. It is spiritually tantamount to an act of rape. It tears the beautiful poetic dress off Song of Solomon, strips that portion of Scripture of its dignity, and holds it up to be laughed at and leered at in a carnal way.
Mark Driscoll has boldly led the parade down this carnal path. He is by far the best-known and most prolific popular proponent of handling the Song of Solomon that way.
MacArthur says it is hard to think of a more appalling misuse of Scripture than turning the Song of Solomon into soft porn. When done repeatedly and with the demeanour of an immature bad-boy, such a practice reflects a major character defect that is spiritually disqualifying… The fact that it is so controversial now is simply more proof that evangelicals have become too much like the world, and too comfortable with the evil characteristics of our culture.
MacArthur responds to the claim that the church should be patient with Driscoll for he will mature overtime. At some point the plea that this is a maturity issue and Mark Driscoll just needs time to mature wears thin. In the meantime, the media is having a field day writing stories that suggest trashy talk is one of the hallmarks of the New Calvinism.
